The Governing Council at its meeting today, has agreed to testify to the church of San Agustín of an eye as a Cultural Under-monument, the maximum protection that has the heritage and that includes both the Law 4 / 2007 Heritage Cultural Region of Murcia as the Law 16/1985 on Spanish Historical Heritage.
This degree of protection of the building also affects the property that the building housed.
The church of San Agustín de Ojós, located in the Plaza of Spain in the town, this is a building dating from the late eighteenth and ordered to be built by the Order of Santiago on an ancient mosque suited to the Catholic religion.
Baroque style, the church is rectangular with three naves with a transept and dome.
Both aisles have niches, housing and factory retablos different images.
The main facade, sober decor, has overlapping and rock ledges in the center two holes for a door to the lower level, while the top appears a niche that houses the image of St. Augustine.
