The Governing Council has approved, at the proposal of the Ministry of Culture and Portavocía, to provide 105,000 euros to the City of Ojós to end this year the public pool of the municipality.
The total budget of the work, which is expected to open its doors this summer, is 470,361 euros, of which the Ministry of Culture contributes a total of 340,000 euros.
This sports facility is located in a municipal plot of the urban area, near the river Segura, and will have two glasses, one with measures of 16.5 meters long by 8 meters wide and a depth of 1.20 to 1.75 Meters, and another one destined to the infantile public, with a depth of 30 centimeters and measures of 11 meters long by 4.5 wide.
The facilities will have adapted masculine and feminine changing rooms, storage for material and ancillary control spaces, medicine chest, canteen and living areas.
Ojós is the only municipality in the Region of Murcia that does not have a municipal swimming pool.
Thus, there are reasons of public and social interest that justify the granting of this economic contribution, while it is addressed to a City that needs to have an adequate sports infrastructure that makes it possible for citizens to have access to leisure and sports in equal Conditions that the rest of citizens of the Region.
