Citizens have demanded responsibilities to the regional government for landslides that have occurred on the RM-520 road, following the torrential rains this weekend.
Alberto Sánchez, Citizen spokesman, in Ojós City Council, has expressed his discomfort because "since our formation we have been requesting for two years the placement of a protective mesh, and any other security measure that is necessary to avoid a serious risk to the neighbors of the municipality and the users of the road;
However, the Popular Party Government has ignored our claims, and if they do not take the necessary measures we fear that some day an irreparable event may take place. "
"Every time an average rain falls, landslides occur, and as a result of them the road is cut off, and since it is the only one that exists to access Ojós, the neighbors are left incommunicado," the spokesperson added. Cs, who has lamented that "according to the facts it seems that the problems of the inhabitants of the smallest municipality of the Region do not matter to the PP Government because it is clear that they have forgotten us".
Sánchez has asked that an investigation be opened and has demanded responsibilities.
"In particular, the general director of roads should give explanations why he does not want to solve this problem.
On the other hand, the municipal government should be more forceful when it comes to defending this issue that is a priority and urgent, not only because the municipality remains incommunicado, but because many neighbors are afraid because any day can happen a tragedy.
